How our data works

As of October 8, 2026, PlaylistLookup tracks 282,000+ Spotify playlists: the public playlists in our database that Spotify still returns. 63,000+ of them have at least one public contact channel, which means at least one email address, social account, website, link-in-bio page or submission link is on record for the playlist (definitions and all figures are on the statistics page).

What we collect

We only list contact details that a curator published. Our scraper reads the description of public Spotify playlists and picks out the contact details in it:

  • email addresses
  • Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook accounts
  • websites, link-in-bio pages and submission links

When a curator publishes a contact on one of their playlists, we also show it on their other playlists in the directory. For each playlist we also store what Spotify shows publicly: name, owner, followers, number of tracks and the date a track was last added.

How contacts are checked

Email addresses go through a deliverability check when they are added to the directory.

Instagram handles that look like a domain name or a stray word are not counted as Instagram in our figures.

How current the data is

The database is synced with Spotify on a rolling schedule. A sync updates a playlist's followers, number of tracks and last activity date, so you can see when a curator last added a track. A playlist that Spotify no longer returns is marked and left out of our figures.

The sync does not re-read the contact details. A contact that a curator has since removed from their description can still be listed.

What the numbers mean

We count playlists, not curators and not contact details. A curator with five playlists counts five times, and a playlist with an email and an Instagram account counts once. "Tracked" means the playlist is in our database. It is our own database, not all of Spotify.

Other tools publish numbers such as curators or contacts. Those count different things, so they cannot be compared one to one with ours.

What we do not promise

  • We do not promise that a curator reads or answers your message.
  • We do not publish a bounce rate.
  • No check is perfect: an address can pass the check and still stop working later.

Remove or correct a contact

Are you a curator and want your contact details removed? Email support@playlistlookup.com with the URL of your playlist, and we remove the contact. To correct a contact instead, tell us what should change.
